APX News / NAHL TENDER ANALYSIS 2025

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED HOW MANY PLAYERS THAT SIGN A NAHL TENDER ACTUALLY END UP PLAYING FOR, AND STAYING WITH, THAT TEAM?

We took a deep dive into the NAHL tenders that were signed last year in 2024-25 and found out which of those athletes are currently competing with the same team that they originally signed with. If they aren’t currently competing with that team in the NAHL then we went and found out where they are now playing instead. Take a look at the results below in our 2025 NAHL Tender Analysis.

After scouring the internet for info on nearly 400 players, this is the data that APX reporter Sydney Wolf found from tracking NAHL tenders over the past year and a half.

The color-coded spreadsheet that you see below is a list of all the tenders (that we were able to find) and where they are now currently playing as of Jan. 1, 2026. After digging through tons of different rosters and finding out where these skaters ended up, we found that just over a third of the hockey players who signed a NAHL tender in 2024-25 are actually still playing with that same team that they originally signed with. Those skaters are designated by the green color on the document below.

The second highest group of athletes, shown in red on the spreadsheet, are those who are playing in a league that is (in Sydney’s opinion) a step down from the NAHL or those who gave up playing junior hockey entirely. This made up about 30% of the entire player pool of those who signed a tender last season.

Another fairly large portion of players, shown in purple below, are those who either 1) are currently playing in the NAHL for a different team than the one that they originally signed with, 2) advanced up to a better league (in Sydney’s opinion) than the NAHL or 3) decided to play college hockey at the DIII or ACHA level. This was just over 20% of the player pool.

The smallest pool of players, shown in yellow below, are those who returned to their high school teams this season or are still playing 18UAAA. Most of the players that signed a tender aren’t age eligible to return to play 18U/HS, so this was a small group of athletes - less than 10% of the overall player pool.

You can view the entire spreadsheet below or you can click here to see the spreadsheet in a separate window. The sheet is sorted alphabetically by the NAHL team tendered with in 2024-25.
