LEADERS ARE CREATED AT APX HOCKEY.

This winter, APX has 25 athletes who are wearing a letter for their respective boys or girls high school hockey teams in the state of Minnesota. The APX staff is extremely proud of this accomplishment for these skaters and can’t wait to watch them lead their teams both on and off the ice in 2025-26.

Leaders are created at APX Hockey. We are proud to announce that 25 of our athletes are wearing letters for their respective high school hockey teams this winter. We take a holistic approach in developing our talented athletes and their skills on the ice, but also putting a major focus in creating excellent character and habits off the ice as well.

Our staff is committed to providing the best, well-rounded program for our athletes, which includes a unique combination of skill development, strength and conditioning training, and a heavy focus on leadership. Each of our athletes, especially those listed below, show up passionate and hungry to get better each and every day, and they all have exceptional attitudes and abilities that has resulted in them getting to wear a letter for their varsity teams.

“APX has helped me over the years in many ways. It has helped me grow the little details in my game that I don’t normally work on,” says APX Athlete Chaz Lentz, who is captain of the Hill-Murray boys high school squad in 2025-26. “They also push you every day to be the best version of yourself.”

The Cottage Grove native had a 20-goal season for the Pioneers last year as a junior and is set up to have a huge senior year this winter. He says that the Hill-Murray squad this season is a team that people should watch out for due to their work ethic and determination to be the best that they can be.

“This year we have a really motivated team, our compete level will really stand out. Everyone is buying in and working hard and it’s really fun to be a part of,” the forward added, talking about what fans can expect from the Pios in 2025-26.

Another APX athlete who is excited about what the season might bring for his team this winter is forward Cole Cheeseman of the Academy of Holy Angels.

“I think people can expect a fast pace and an extremely high compete level from our team. We are able to transition into offense extremely fast and have one of the best defensive cores in the state,” he said about the Stars squad this year. “Everyone is buying into our systems and we play structured hockey that’s hard to beat.”

Cheeseman joined the APX program in 2024 and says that training with our coaching staff has helped him round out all of the details in his game and that his overall playing style now is much stronger because of all the work that he has put in here. The Richfield native had a 65-point season last year as a junior and will be a top senior to watch out for in 2025-26.

“APX Hockey has helped me develop my 200-foot game and has emphasized the details and importance of more than just the offensive side of the puck,” he said. “I have become much stronger on the puck and a lot tougher at one-on-one defense.”

Another one of our top athletes wearing a ‘C’ this season for their high school team is Brayden Fuerst of Mahtomedi. Fuerst was our APX 18s Tier Player of the Month in April and has been putting in tons of work on and off the ice to have his best season of varsity hockey yet this winter as a senior for the Zephyrs, who are a top team in Class A.

“I’m really excited for my senior season with the Zephyrs. There’s nothing better than playing with your friends. We have a great group of guys and will be a strong presence this year,” he said about how the Mahtomedi squad is feeling so far in early December.

Make sure to keep an eye on each of the athletes listed below as they are set to impress both on and off the ice this winter as captains of their high school hockey teams.
