APX Edge / About
Own Your Edges, Control The Game
///////////////////////
APX Edge builds skaters who move with control, explosiveness, efficiency, and speed that holds up at game pace, shift after shift.
WHAT IS APX EDGE
Move Better. Play Faster.
Speed only matters when a player can control it. APX Edge teaches hockey players to create more power with less wasted motion, improving acceleration, turns, transitions, balance, and recovery.
The result is efficient, explosive skating that holds up under pressure and late in games.
Figure Skating Precision.
Built For Hockey
A Higher Standard Of Skating Development
///////////////////////
APX Edge is led by Sadie Gibbs, a professional touring skater and U.S. Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist. She earned this distinction by passing the highest-level proficiency tests in both Senior Moves in the Field and Senior Free Skate.
Sadie applies elite edge control, balance, body positioning, and efficiency to the skills hockey players rely on most: explosive starts, tight turns, transitions, escapes, lateral movement, and changes of pace.
This is not figure skating for hockey players. It is elite skating expertise applied directly to the game.

Director of Skating Development
Two-Time U.S. Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist | Professional Touring Skater
Sadie Gibbs leads APX Edge as Director of Skating Development. She is a U.S. Figure Skating double gold medalist, having passed both Senior Moves in the Field and Senior Free Skate with honors, two of the highest testing standards in the sport.
Her competitive career spans Juvenile through Junior Levels. Sadie competed at the Upper Great Lakes Regional Championships, earned a Junior Women’s regional medal and a Minnesota State silver medal, and qualified for the Midwestern Sectional Championships. Most recently, she has performed professionally with Holiday on Ice, touring Europe as an ensemble skater.
Sadie has coached skaters at every stage of development, from beginners to competitive athletes. Her experience includes hockey and figure skating instruction, group training, and private coaching. She also has great experience as a skate technician, providing a detailed understanding of boots, blades and how equipment influences skating mechanics.
What separates Sadie from a traditional hockey power skating coach is her technical command of edge control, balance, body positioning, and efficiency. She applies that expertise directly to the demands of hockey, helping athletes accelerate, turn, transition, escape pressure, and change direction with great control.
Small Groups. More Touches. Every rep coached.
Sessions are intentionally small, with just 6 to 10 skaters, so every athlete receives real-time feedback, individual correction, and more meaningful repetitions. No getting lost in a line. No skating through mistakes. Just focused development.
A Clear Development Path
Four Levels.
The Right Starting Point.
Build. Develop. Perform. Elite.
Every athlete is assessed and placed at the level that matches their current ability. From foundational mechanics to game-speed explosiveness, control, and execution, each level is designed to move the skater forward.
Who APX Edge is For
Every Skater, Every Level
APX Edge is built for any hockey player serious about becoming a better skater. Young athletes building their foundation. Developing players who want more power and efficiency. Advanced skaters chasing the explosive edge work that shows up in game situations.
Skating is the one skill that touches everything else in this game. Better skating means better positioning, more time with the puck, and more energy when it matters most. No matter where your athlete is today, APX Edge is built to take them further.
Build The Skater The Game Demands
Skating is the foundation of everything in hockey. Better skating mechanics create more control, more separation, and more time with the puck.
