These eight athletes will be competing in Las Vegas and Green Bay this weekend for a chance to take home a national title. Each team will play three games from Tuesday through Thursday (March 24-26) and the national quarterfinals, semifinals, and title match will take play Friday through Sunday (March 27-29).
“I think what makes our team so good this season is our compete and our brotherhood as a team,” said Rochester (MN) native Beckett Fleming about the Culver Academy team this season. “We all go to school together and pretty much spend our entire days with each other and that promotes great team culture. We are a group of ultra competitive boys, which gives us extra motivation and compete during training which correlates to games. Something that separates us from other teams is our discipline during hard times, we always are good at staying out of penalty trouble and we stick to our systems very well.”
“My team along with myself are feeling very confident going into the national tournament. We have been apart of many competitive tournaments this year and won a couple including the GameSheet Cup and our district Mid-AM Playoffs. We have been working towards the National Tournament since our pre-season training in August so we have been training the whole season for this moment,” he added.
Culver Academy opens the national tournament with a game against Mid-Fairfield on March 24th in Las Vegas at City National Arena. The team will then have to face off against Neponset Valley on March 25th and Team Alaska on March 26th with TBD playoff games to follow this weekend.
“What makes our team so special is we have a very tight group on and off the ice and everyone believes in each other,” said 18-year-old forward Dominic Anthony about the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep squad in 2025-26. “We have a great coaching staff that shows up for us everyday to make us not only better hockey players but better people. I think we stand out because of the way we are taught to handle games like these - not to panic just because there is a medal on the line and just play the way we’ve been playing all year.”
The highly regarded Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep team will open the national tournament with a match against Fox Motors (MI) on March 24th in Las Vegas, followed by games against Northern CT and the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers in the days to follow.
“Our team is feeling very good about [this] week and our team is so good this year because we really all bought in and we all are looking for the same goal - to win a national championship,” said Shattuck-St. Mary’s U16 forward Henry Meier, a highly-regard prospect who recently attended the NTDP Evaluation Camp in mid-March. “We stand out more than other teams because we play such a fast kind of hockey and we move the puck so well and we just want it more than everyone else.”
The U16 Shattuck-St. Mary’s team will play the Providence Capitals, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Jr. Knights, and Honeybaked (MI), in the preliminary round of play March 24-26 in Green Bay, followed by playoff games from March 27-29.
